Tannins feel polished rather than pushy, and the finish glides on. Merlot and Cabernet Franc on clay and gravel give a plush core with lifted perfume. A short cold soak before fermentation brightens the fruit, and time in new barrels adds supple spice and that almond tone, without heaviness. It is gorgeous now and will keep improving for years.
