江戸時代南部藩（岩手県）が城をかまえた城下町・盛岡の地で、400年続く南部鉄器の老舗です。 鈴木家は寛永2年（1625）に、南部家の本国甲州より御用鋳物師として召し抱えられて以来、代々藩の御用を勤めてきました。 現在でも昔ながらの技法を受け継ぎ南部鉄器を作り続けています。
