French novelist George Sand was known for leaving a trail of her scent in her Nohant home. The formula of her perfume was extracted from a small vial entrusted by Christiane Sand to the perfume historian Annick Le Gurer who then worked with perfumer Dominique Ropion to recreate this scent.
