When I approached this painting of Castle Stalker, perched as it is on its little island in Loch Laich at dusk, I wanted to capture that moment of stillness when the days light slips away and the castle becomes a silhouette against the horizon. The title Twilight refers not just to the hour of the day, but to the in between state: light and dark, land and water, solid form and soft reflection. Composition & Mood I placed the
